Accommodation for The Open 2021 in Kent
Following the global Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, The R&A has taken the decision to cancel The Open in 2020.
The 149th Open, which had been due to take place at Royal St George’s in Sandwich, Kent from 12-19 July 2020, will now be held from 11-18 July 2021 at the same prestigious venue.
The R&A’s decision to move the date of The Open 2020 was taken following advice from the UK Government, public services, health authorities and the R&A’s own advisers.
The decision marks the first time since the Second World War that golf’s original Championship, first played in 1860, has been cancelled.
