Phoebe Shipton  ·  5th February 2016

There’s plenty going on on the East Kent coast to keep families of all ages amused this Easter holiday and we have a wonderful collection of family properties for you to stay in. Easter comes early this year falling between the 25 and 28 of March so don’t be caught out  – now is the time to book. Here’s a taste of what’s on:

Children’s Festival Easter Weekend 25th – 28 March

Escape on a family adventure back in time to a place where Roman gladiators mix with medieval knights and princesses roam. Activities include meeting a Victorian toymaker as well as making your own toy to take home; tackling a WWII assault course; knights training and a fire eating show on stilts. Strictly no bunnies or chocolate trails.

Dinosaurs Come Alive this Easter
Step into  a Jurassic world at Port Lympne Reserve. This wild animal park has a huge new attraction opening on Good Friday as the largest collection of dinosaurs in Europe hatches. Dig for your own fossils or create your own dinosaur to take home. There will be a dedicated team of rangers on hand to bring the experience to life. Port Lympne Reserve is near Folkestone.
Retro Rides and Trills for Eveyone

Roll up Roll up. Dreamland opens for Easter with with old-fashioned thrills and amusements including helter-skelter, scenic railway, Wedgwood tea cups ride and a whole host of retro rides and attractions. There is also a not so average children’s play zone with circus tent and beach huts for under 8’s. Rollerskate the night away in the Roller Room and grab a bite to eat at the Roller Diner.

Tea Rooms and Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunt

Mum will love the delightful Mrs Knotts vintage tea room in a  former lighthouse keeper’s cottage with mix and match bone china tea cups, tempting cakes and fresh bakes. Dad will love a guided tour of this Victorian lighthouse that was in service for 142 years and the kids wiill love the Easter egg hunt that involves unravelling clues on an archaeology trail around this cliff top site.
