Getting Active in Kent

As the nights draw in and the days become grey it gets harder to spend time outdoors having fun. We have some ideas to combat cabin fever and help you to stay active in the Autumn weeks. Take a look at our tips on how to enjoy the best of the great outdoors.

Take a look at our Autumn availability and book in for a stay

5K Park Run
Get active and out into the community by joining one of the weekly park runs. Held on Deal seafront, the course takes you up to the pier and back up to Walmer Castle. A great way to graduate from couch to 5k or to give your running game a boost. If you’re looking to keep up your fitness regime whilst away from home, this is a great chance to see the area and get those miles in.

Sea Safari
Hop on to a sea safari tour and take to the waves as you explore the Kent coast by sea. Take a tour of the infamous Goodwin sands, or go in search of the common harbour seal on the “Secret Seals” tour- Featured on BBC’s Autumn Watch. For those who love the water and being out at sea, this is something special and makes for a memorable trip.

Surfing at Joss Bay

Whether you’ve never stepped foot on a board before or you’re a seasoned surfer, Joss Bay caters to all. Located in beautiful Broadstairs, golden sands and shallow waters await. A great activity to keep the whole family occupied. Zip up the wetsuit and get out on the waves!

Bike Hire
Deal is a town best seen by bike. You can ride into town and pick up bread from the market, or explore the coastline for miles by bike. Cycle paths extend along Walmer and Deal beach up to Thanet. Country lanes make for an idyllic setting for your ride to the local pub. Hire a bike, from Mikes Bikes on Walmer Beach and see where it takes you.

Clifftop Walks
Bring your binoculars and camera for a stroll along the clifftop paths. On a clear day, you can see France. You might even encounter wild ponies on your route as you get nearer to Dover. The stunning vistas and beautiful landscapes are not to be missed.
