With two double bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, this charming three-storey cottage is the perfect base for couples and small families to explore the local area from.

Inside, the cottage has a cosy, homely feel, with exposed beams, neutral white walls and soft carpets that feel luxurious underfoot. There are plenty of amenities to make life easier too, including a dishwasher, microwave and gas hob with oven – perfect for a big night in.

When it comes to the bedrooms, enjoy a great night’s rest in the first bedroom , which comes complete with a comfortable double bed, attractive street views and stylish Scandinavian-style decor.

The second bedroom comes with a stunning pretty annexed ceiling and exposed beams, which adds to the homely cottage feel. It has a king size bed to sink into at the end of a long day, too. Bliss!

In warmer weathers, open the French doors that lead out onto a Juliette-style balcony, where you’ll witness beautiful views of the deceptively large rear garden.

Laid to lawn, there’s also a paved area outside where you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining in the sun.

And don’t forget to bring out the BBQ for some delicious evening cuisine along with a glass or two of wine.

Activities close to Writer’s Cottage in Deal, Kent

Writer’s Cottage is located just off the vibrant Deal high street, where you can find many cosy cafes and tea rooms to relax and plan your holiday adventures in.

A favourite with the locals is Hope and Lane, an artisan coffee shop that offers sweet and savoury snacks, vegan treats and 100% organic coffee. They have waved goodbye to single use plastic too, offering guilt and plastic-free packaging instead.

Deal Castle is also only a short walk or cycle away from Writer’s Cottage, allowing you to go back in time to a fascinating period in English history. From never-seen-before artefacts to the new historic graffiti lounge, there is so much to discover about this interesting Tudor artillery castle – built by the order of King Henry VIII.

There’s also a gentle cycle route connecting Deal Castle to Walmer Castle and Gardens too, allowing you to make a whole day of it.

And you can’t go to Deal without taking a trip to the coast. With its unspoilt seafront, colourful buildings and pebbled beach – which is decorated by many unique fishing boats – it really is one of the most characteristic beaches in the UK. The iconic Deal Pier is well worth checking out too, and is home to an array of restaurants serving delicious, freshly-caught seafood.
