Expert forager Lucia will guide you through local landscapes in search of edible delights. You’ll learn how to find, identify and prepare foraged foods. What’s more, you’ll get to indulge in a foraged feast afterwards, sampling some of the foods you’ve discovered!

The Wild Kitchen’s upcoming events:
Meadow & Coast: Saturday 2nd June 8.30-2 pm A low ‘Spring’ tide is ideal for finding shrimps and edible seaweeds. Then onto ancient Chalk meadowland for leaves and herbs for the luncheon salad. Our foraged feast is at The Wild Kitchen, a Georgian ship’s pilots house in Deal.

Smugglers & Samphire: Sunday 1st July 11-3pm & Saturday 28th July 11-3pm Wander in a wilderness location with smugglers tunnels to forage samphire and rare coastal succulent plants. Relax in the sun for a magnificent wild food picnic feast.

Edible Seashore: Saturday 14th July 3-8pm & 25th August 2018 A beach below The White Cliffs of Dover to find edible wild food such as seaweed, limpets & coastal plants such as rock samphire. Spectacular scenery with a gourmet feast in a stylish beach hut. Lifetime skills & new friends.

Berry Bonanza: Saturday 29th September 11-4pm Autumn fruits, seeds, berries and new leaves. Learn about wild food such as haws or nutritious sea buckthorn, the super berry that astronauts take before flying. Foraged feast at The Wild Kitchen in Deal, an 18th-century ship’s pilots house.

Shellfish special: Saturday 22nd September 2-6 pm & Saturday 14th October 10-2pm Wild oysters, winkles, limpets and mussels for the picnic feast. Learn how to best cook shellfish in situ. Our beach dining table is laid under the dramatic skies & Autumn sunsets that inspired J M W Turner.
