"This is a lovely spot with uninterrupted views of the beach and lovely opportunities to explore the Kent coast.
We stayed as two families with children 6 to 11 and we really valued the lovely big kitchen, garden and the opportunity to roam!"

"We booked this house after staying down the road at Cliffeside Cottage last year. We leave Downsview with a success story - 13 hours and 47 minutes and 3 seconds in 14 degree water on a foggy June day - and with one very happy crew! Thank you for being the backdrop of your incredible family adventures. We've walked, driven and railroaded and over Kent - something none of us Australian's ever thought would happen. We ever convinced some Londoner's to come and visit (Downsview won them over for sure). We shall miss the garden and the cool ocean breeze over a morning coffee in the kitchen reading nook."

"What a wonderful week we've had at Downsview! We're in love with your beautiful home, which was appointed with everything we needed and more. The kitchen is a lovely big space where we loved gathering and eating as a family and the little ones enjoyed sitting and playing in the nook and out in the back garden. We explored the seaside, had a lovely lunch at Zetland Arms and cycled into Deal a few times. We had yummy fish and chips from Sea view and a delivious dinners at Frog and Scot. We had fantastic weather for our outing to Walmer Castle and were blown away by the beautiful gardens. Thanks again - we'll treasure the memories of our seaside holiday at Downsview!"

"We would just like to say, what a wonderful location and spectacular house, we stayed in,in September this year.
The house and garden have a fabulous atmosphere and there are lots of little areas to relax, in the garden,where we could chill out and soak up the sun and sea air ,watching passers-by going on their daily jaunts, with the beach just a stones throw away.

Waking in the morning to sun and spectacular views and the sound of the sea, is always a memory I will hold with me. The house is amazing with character and charm, with spacious rooms and very comfortable. The front bedroom has a spacious inner balcony with the view overlooking the beach..spectacular!The kitchen is unbelievable..huge and bifold doors opening up on to a spacious terrace. It's been recently renovated and with very good taste, and a lot of care taken over it. We spent all our time in the kitchen/living area as it was just so stunning!!! A joy to cook in with ample cooking facilities, crockery and cutlery and utensils in cupboards and drawers...everything you could wish for including wine cooler, icemaker and a coffee pod machine!!!! We had a wonderful wonderful time here and we were sad when we left this amazing house and garden and we would love it to be our home!!!!!
Recommend it....and we are already planning our next stay....hopefully for a longer time...2 weeks instead of one!!!!!"

It was wonderful to be back in Kingsdown, a place with such fond memories for us. Many happy years and indeed carefree summer holidays were spent staying at 'Golden Hours' from 1952-1998. "The last few months have been pretty bonkers, our stay here has been just the medicine we needed - thank you. We had the most blissful time staying in your lovely house, it had everything that we needed. The location is amazing, just being able to walk onto the beach is such a treat. I am afraid we cant really give any recommendations of places to visit we just investigated the local area and hunted for shells. (Although the Zetland Arms is definitely worth a visit). I have 2 favourite places in the house, the banquet in the kitchen is a great spot for early morning coffee and the balcony from the main bedroom. I spent hours watching the sea and the birds sketching. I can't wait to stay again. Thank you."

"The house has been wonderful. so very well equipped. When the fans arrived it made such a difference. After enforced shielding for 5 months, I had an enjoyable time with my adult family. A beautiful location, lots of lovely walks and we would love to come again another time."
