Set in a quiet, picturesque road, a stone's throw from the unspoilt pretty pebbled beach and the local village pub, The Zetland Arms, round the corner, what more could you ask for?
Kingfisher Cottage is nestled among a cluster of similar cottages on a private road leading to the unspoilt pebble beach of Kingsdown. There are invigorating seafront walks on your doorstep with the dramatic cliffs of Kingsdown towards St Margaret's Bay and Dover in one direction or the historic sites in Deal, Walmer and Sandwich in the other.
There is also an allocated parking space with the cottage.
Enter through a traditional storm porch into a living room. A large window to the front gives plenty of natural light, whilst the brick fireplace with open coal effect gas fire oozes rustic charm. The decor is light and inviting.
Leading through the living room is a quaint dining area with a wood burning stove, solid wood table and five chairs with a matching dresser. Walk through to the fully fitted kitchen. The white cabinets offset the solid wood worktops. The kitchen contains: a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, cooking and dining utensils.
Located behind the kitchen is a large modern bathroom with white suite and shower over the bath.
Continue upstairs and you find two good sized bedrooms, one double and one twin, both decorated to give a light, fresh feel.
To the rear of the cottage, is a secluded delightful garden with lawn and seating. Just perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine by day, or eating al fresco by night!
The cottage has gas central heating. There is a supplement for gas and electricity from October to March. Bed linen and towels are included but please bring beach towels.
Kingsdown is a charming pebble beach between St Margaret's at Cliff and Wamer. Kingfisher Cottage is located with wild flowers and beach huts between the picket fence and the seafront. You will find the Zetland Arms on the seafront which offers very good pub food and is very child and dog friendly. It is advisable to book in advance. The village offers a choice of shops, a newsagent and a very good butcher. There is a good bus service to the centre of Deal or travel towards Dover for a day out.
For those looking for some activity in their day, Deal is a historical coastal town and is a beautiful coastal walk, lasting about 40 minutes. The very popular seaside town is steeped in history having not one but three castles built by Henry VIII named Deal, Walmer and Sandown.
There is something for everyone in Deal, fantastic independent shops, a wonderful market on a Thursday and a Saturday, delicatessens, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Deal has a long Pier and the beach is perfect for soaking up the coastal scenery. Deal is a genuine Georgian town with winding streets and a lovely promenade.
For sandy beaches Sandwich Bay and Broadstairs are a short drive away. There are two wonderful zoos' to keep the children amused, Howletss and Port Lympne.
For garden enthusiasts there are lovely gardens at Walmer Castle and The Salutation in Sandwich is outstanding.
It is golfers paradise in this area with Royal St Georges at Sandwich, Royal Cinque Ports at Deal and Princes at Sandwich Bay. Other sporting activities include water sports and fishing. For bird lovers, there is a wonderful Bird Sanctuary in Sandwich Bay.
If you feel like a day trip to France, then taking a ferry from Dover or the Channel Tunnel at Folkstone couldn't be easier.
Inland you will find the historic City of Canterbury with its cobbled streets and magnificent Catherdral.
