Spooky halloween events in East Kent

There’s a lot of spooky Halloween tricks and treats in store for you in and around Deal. Here is a ghoulish taste of what’s on offer.

Walk the Terror Trail at Betteshanger Country Park in the pitch dark to parts of the park only few ever dare to travel. The Terror Trail takes place from 4pm-5pm (recommended 7-14 years and scaredy cats) and 5pm-7pm (strictly over 15’s) – £4 per person or £12 for a group of 4.

For one night only, Betteshanger is screening the scariest horror film experience ever – meet at the Visitor Centre for a chilling hike through the woods before watching The Blair Witch project. Tickets £10 per person in advance or £15 on the day and includes a warming post-screening toddy.

For little ones, follow Tawny Owl, Guardian of the Woods, his loyal friend spider and Betteshanger’s bravest children on a mysterious Halloween Trail around the Park (10am-4pm daily). Carve pumpkins in the Betteshanger Visitor Centre. Pumpkins £3 each. Carving kits £2.50 each. £5 for both.

Enjoy family-friendly medieval trick or treat fun at the Canterbury Tales attraction – join costumed characters on a spooky journey based on favourite books. Runs 24th to the 28th October and normal admission prices apply. For teenagers upwards, Canterbury Tales Contagious! returns for its second year with a terrifying graveyard, street theatre and photo opportunity. This unique scare event is even more terrifying this year.

Kent’s most haunted castle Dover Castle has a frighteningly fun day out awaiting you between Saturday 22 October and Sunday 30 October. Price includes entry to the site and the event – free for English Heritage members.

Screamland at Dreamland dubbed by industry experts as ‘The best scare event on any UK Park’! is recommended for anyone aged 14+. This evening event will immerse you into a frightening world of interactive scare mazes and sideshows that is set to thrill and haunt the darkest soul.  Included in your Screamland ticket is unlimited use of all the rides – some with an unexpected twist.

QuExtremeTerror in association with Nail in the Coffin productions presents a thrilling new scare attraction for Halloween set within the eerie surroundings of Quex Park’s Forest Areas, Maize Field and Woodland Trails. Experience this spine-chilling adventure between 28th and 30th October. Tickets £15.
