Flamingo House is a fabulous holiday home, with the beach at one end of the road, and the vibrant high street at the other. It is beautifully decorated in a contemporary yet comfortable style. Sleeping eight guests across four spacious and comfortable bedrooms, there is plenty of space for everyone. There is an open plan living area with three comfortable sofas, an open fire for cosy evenings, a 40 inch HD Smart TV and shelves of books and a cupboard full of board games for adults and children too. The light-filled and sociable open plan kitchen/dining room is a real delight and has been very well equipped for holiday cooking or baking, so much so that it often gets complimented by guests. Doors from here lead out onto the sunny south-facing garden with an outdoor dining table, children's chairs and a bright pink bench. It is the perfect setting for al fresco dining or just relaxing outdoors with a book and a glass of wine. Upstairs are the four bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a bath and overhead shower and the other with a modern walk in shower. This family friendly holiday home really does cater for children, with toys and books, children’s crockery and cutlery and a travel cot and highchair. And your four-legged friend is also welcome to join the family holiday. Whitstable is very dog friendly with large stretches of the beach accessible all year round, and many cafes, restaurants and pubs welcome dogs. Whitstable is a vibrant and charming seaside town, full of history and charm with a working harbour and fish market. It has a thriving art scene with lots of galleries showing the work of local artists, a great live music scene in the local pubs and some great cafes and restaurants serving contemporary dishes including of course oysters which made Whitstable famous.

The bedrooms are on the first and second floors. The stairs to the second floor are steeper than the first set of stairs. There is a handrail on both flights of stairs.

No parking but free, unrestricted on-street parking is available outside the house and on neighbouring roads

  • Check in is 4pm, and check out is 10am
  • Towels and linen are provided, no beach towels
  • Full fibre WiFi, perfect for staying connected
  • The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and baking - it often gets complimented by our guests.
  • Central heating throughout and an open fire in the sitting room for cosy evenings
  • Cot and high chair available, as well as childrens cups, crockery and cutlery and lots of toys and books!
  • We do not provide any linen for the travel cot, so please bring this with you
  • Dogs are welcome for an additional charge of £25 per dog, per stay
  • A starter pack of sundries such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid and hand soaps are provided to get you started, but you may wish to bring more for your self catering holiday - especially if staying for over a week

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages. Should any damages arise please note charges may apply as per your booking terms and conditions.

  • Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the property at any time.
  • Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
  • For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property. Please do no charge e-scotters or e-cigarettes.
  • Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
  • Parties and loud music are not permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Parking is all free on Nelson Road. However, it is worth noting that it does get busy during peak season. If you find a space, we would advise keeping the car here for the duration. There are also a number of car parks nearby, one of which is just off Nelson Road. Here's some more details, in order of distance to the house.

  • Shaftesbury Road Car Park, CT5 2AW - £15 per day (7.30am-9pm) or £2 overnight (9pm-7.30am)
  • Middle Wall Car Park, CT5 1BN - £20 per day (7.30am-9pm) or £2 overnight (9pm-7.30am)

There is no coffee machine at Flamingo House. There is a cafetiere, and we would also recommend local coffee shop, Grain & Hearth, which is within a 3 minute walk from the property.

Yes, Flamingo House allows up to 3 pets per stay. The garden is enclosed and there is grass and a decking. The beach is also within a 4 to 5 minute walk making it the ideal property for dogs.

Flamingo House is set in the heart of Whitstable, a much-loved seaside town celebrated for its working harbour, creative spirit and relaxed coastal rhythm. The beach and seafront are just at the end of the road, perfect for early morning walks along the shore or watching the light change across the Thames Estuary. Whitstable’s easygoing pace and compact layout make it a pleasure to explore on foot, with the sea never far from view. The harbour is the heart of the town, home to colourful fishing boats, bustling fish huts and some of the best seafood on the Kent coast. Harbour Street and the High Street offer an excellent mix of independent shops, galleries, cafés and record stores, while traditional pubs and oyster bars reflect Whitstable’s long maritime heritage. Just to the east, Tankerton Slopes provide open green space and far-reaching coastal views, with their distinctive parade of beach huts below. For days out, the Whitstable Coastal Trail links the town with Herne Bay and Reculver, offering scenic walking and cycling routes along the shoreline. The Crab and Winkle Way provides a picturesque route towards the Cathedral city of Canterbury. Whitstable railway station offers direct connections to London, making Flamingo House an ideal base for short breaks and longer stays exploring north Kent.
