Narayan
Narayan is a beautiful, elegant holiday home in the heart of Deal’s Georgian conservation area. The owner has renovated the house to to a very high standard creating a luxurious interior combined with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
From the exposed beams and painted panelling to the zellige tiles, brass fittings and beautifully chosen furniture, this is a house that has been put together with real vision and considerable style. The house runs across three floors in the way that only old Deal cottages can, each room leading naturally into the next, the layout unfolding gradually as you move through it. On the ground floor, the sitting room at the front is anchored by an exposed brick fireplace with a log burner and sets the tone for the whole house. Beyond it, the kitchen/diner is well-equipped and beautifully finished with green shaker cabinets, a full splashback of ochre zellige tiles and a dining table that seats six comfortably. From there, the house opens into a wonderful rear conservatory room, with a large skylight flooding the space with light; a lovely space to sit and read a book. A ground floor shower room with a gold framed glass shower, and beautiful diamond tile floor is just beyond. Doors from the conservatory room lead out to the courtyard which is sheltered, quiet and entirely your own. Three bedrooms and a further bathroom are spread across the upper floors: the two master bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom with a deep marble bath with overhead shower and warm tiles are found on the first floor and the charming twin room tucked under the eaves is on the top floor. Narayan is kind of home that is very easy to fall in love with, but very hard to leave.

Bedroom One
King size bed, built in cupboards with hanging rails and drawers, desk and long mirror, chair. Fireplace is decorative only. Blackout roller blinds.
Bedroom Two
Double size bed, bedside tables, lamps, chest of drawers. Opposite this bedroom is a wardrobe with rails and cupboard space. Blackout roller blinds.
Bathroom
Bathroom with bath and overhead rainfall shower with separate hose attachment, WC, basin, mirror, wall lights. There is also extra built in cupboard space for toiletries.
Bedroom Three
Twin room with two single beds, open to the rafters. Please note this room is accessed via an open staircase without a bannister and is not suitable for children under 10.

Completely private walled courtyard garden with outdoor seating.
Shed
External shed housing washer/dryer and drying rack.
The house is set across three floors with steep, curved staircases - full of character but not suitable for those with limited mobility. The top floor bedroom has an open staircase. For this reason the house is not suitable for children under 10 years old. Rope handrails are fitted on all staircases.
There is no dedicated parking at the property. Free and paid parking is available in nearby town centre car parks and along the seafront, a short walk away. We recommend unloading at the house first and then parking nearby.
- Check in is from 4pm and check out is by 10am.
- Sleeps 6 across three bedrooms, one king-size, one double and one twin.
- Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
- High speed WiFi with boosters and Smart TV.
- Log burner in the sitting room.
- Washer/dryer located in the outdoor shed.
- A starter pack of sundries is provided including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, sponges, toilet roll. You may wish to bring more if staying for over a week.
- Not suitable for children under 10 years old due to open staircase on the top floor.
- Not suitable for those with limited mobility due to steep, curved staircases.
- No pets permitted.
- There is a camera pointing towards the front door, for security purposes.
- We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages. Should any damages arise please note charges may apply as per our Terms and Conditions.
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the property at any time.
- Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property. No charging of e-scooters or e-cigarettes.
- Please note quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Please be respectful to neighbours.
- Parties and loud music are not permitted.
- Hen and stag groups are not permitted.

The house is a 1 minute walk (100 yards) to the beach.
Yes, there is a beautiful bath on the first floor which also has an overhead shower.
The first two bedrooms and main bathroom are upstairs on the first floor. The twin bedroom is on the second floor in the eaves. There is a second ground floor shower room at the back of the property.
The independent high street with shops, cafes, galleries, restaurants and bars is just a 1 minute walk, the closest pub (The Ship Inn, on Middle Street) is only 40 yards from your front door. Sainsbury's, Aldi and Deal train station are a 5 minute walk away.

Deal
Narayan sits in a brilliant spot in Deal, on popular Middle Street, close enough to the seafront to dip easily into seaside life, yet tucked into the town where everything feels walkable and unhurried. Wandering into town, you’ll quickly find yourself among Deal’s Georgian streets and thriving independent scene. The high street is lined with bakeries, butchers, delis and antiques shops, alongside excellent cafés and wine bars that invite you to linger. Seafront pubs and restaurants stretch along the promenade, perfect for long lunches or supper as the light softens over the water. Deal Pier draws you out across the sea and is always worth a visit, while Deal Castle and Walmer Castle sit nearby, quietly anchoring the town’s rich maritime past.
When you feel like venturing further, coastal paths head north towards Sandwich Bay or south to Kingsdown, offering wide skies, open views and easy cycling routes. Canterbury is also just a short drive away with it's Cathedral, it's a must visit for a day out of town. Deal railway station provides direct services to London in just over an hour and a half, making Narayan a wonderful choice for both short seaside escapes and longer stays on the Kent coast.

Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!
The Pelican Rooms
A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
