Yes, one dog is very welcome to stay. We just ask that your dog stays downstairs and doesn't go on furniture, to keep the house nice and clean for the next guests. Deal is full of dog friendly pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. We recommend paying a visit to Barkened on High Street which sells dog treats, toys and accessories.
Deal is one of Kent’s most loved coastal towns, known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful Georgian seafront and long pebble beach. The promenade stretches along the shoreline and is ideal for bike rides, gentle strolls, morning swims or fish and chips. From the seafront you can wander along the iconic pier, explore the historic Deal Castle, or continue south towards Walmer Castle and Gardens, both originally built during the reign of Henry VIII to defend the Kent coastline.
Families will love the easy access to the beach and promenade at The Mariner's Retreat, perfect for exploring the classic seaside fun of Deal Arcade and wandering around the Saturday market in the town centre. The seafront also offers wonderful walking routes, whether you head along the coast towards Walmer for coffee at Hut 55 or The Zetland Arms further along in Kingsdown. In the other direction, head north towards Sandwich through nature reserves and sandy beaches at low tide.
The house is ideally located for everyday essentials, with two supermarkets just a short walk away. Aldi and Sainsbury’s are both around four minutes on foot, making it easy to pick up groceries during your stay.
Deal has become well known for its excellent food scene and welcoming cafés. Local favourites include The Pop Up Café for brunch or The Lane Café for breakfast. In the evening you might enjoy a drink at The Ship Inn on Middle Street, a glass of wine at Le Pinardier before dinner at one of the town’s popular restaurants such as The Rose, 81 Beach Street or The Blue Pelican.
