Sellindge village is just minutes away with a Co-op and local amenities. Ashford is approximately 7 miles west, Hythe around 6 miles south, and Folkestone around 8 miles away. The M20 at Junction 11 is just 2 miles from the property, making the whole of Kent easily accessible.
Sellinge sits in one of the most quietly rewarding corners of Kent, tucked between the North Downs and the Romney Marsh, with the coast to the south, the Weald to the north, plenty of countryside, history and good food within easy reach in every direction. The village itself has everything you need day to day - a post office and general store, but the real draws are the pubs. The Tiger at Stowting and The Five Bells at East Brabourne are both within a short 10 minute drive and are exactly the kind of country pubs that remind you why Kent earned its reputation as the Garden of England: good beer, a roaring fire in winter and lovely gardens in the summer. The New Flying Horse Inn at Wye is an award-winning country inn with exceptional food and a beautiful setting in the Kent Downs is well worth the short drive. For wine lovers, Domaine Evremond is one of the most exciting vineyard destinations in England right now. Founded by Champagne house Taittinger and set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just outside Chilham, this pioneering estate is a must visit. The coast is equally well placed. Hythe is the closest, a traditional seaside town with a long seafront and good cafés. Folkestone, twenty minutes away, has been transformed in recent years, the Creative Quarter and Harbour Arm with some genuinely excellent restaurants make it one of the most rewarding towns on the south coast. Dymchurch and the wide sands of Camber Sands are both within easy reach for families wanting a proper beach day. For history, Westenhanger Castle is just minutes from the house and for days out Port Lympne Wildlife Reserve is fifteen minutes away, Dover Castle and the White Cliffs within half an hour, and Canterbury with its famous cathedral are around forty minutes north. And for those travelling from the city, Ashford International is ten minutes away with high-speed services to London St Pancras in under forty minutes or the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone puts Paris within two hours. Lower Brook House really does sit at the centre of it all.
