Located in the charming conservation area of Deal, Oak Street Cottage is an elegant town house located in the charming conservation area of Deal. Situated in a quiet side street just off the main promenade and beach, this comfortable holiday home is also just a few yards from both the buzzing high street with its delis, boutique shops and cafes and restaurants.The cosy sitting room with wood burning stove leads into the dining room and kitchen, a downstairs cloakroom and utility room. Free on street parking on neighbouring streets, which are a short walk away. There are pay and display car parks on the promenade, along the high street and throughout Deal. The seafront also offers both paid and free options.
The bedrooms are on the first and second floor. The stairs are wooden and typical of an older cottage, but there is a handrail on one side. The stairs to the second floor bedrooms are very steep.

- Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.

- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.

The beach is less than a minutes walk from the property. Once outside the property, turn left towards the seafront and walk towards the top of Oak Street. Once at the top, carefully cross the road, and you'll reach the seafront. It's as easy as that!
No, there is no coffee machine at the house. We would recommend popping into town and heading right towards Hope & Lane (opens at 8am), Climpson & Sons (opens from 7.30am) or The Pop Up Cafe (opens at 8.30am) for delicious morning coffee, pastries and lunches. The high street is less than a minutes walk away from the property.
The stairs are very classic of a conservation area property, which means they are steeper than the normal household stairs would be. However, there is a handrail to help you, and they are carpeted, so not slippy. The stairs up to the second floor are steeper, and so not suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children.

Bay Reach is ideally located in Deal, offering easy access to the town’s relaxed coastal rhythm and lively independent scene. The seafront is very close by, inviting morning walks along the promenade or unhurried afternoons watching the tide roll in across the English Channel. Deal’s compact layout makes it wonderfully walkable, with historic streets, cafés and shops all within comfortable reach.
Deal’s award-winning high street is a particular draw, celebrated for its antiques shops, boutiques, artisan bakeries and well-stocked delis. The town’s food scene is excellent, with seafood restaurants, welcoming pubs and stylish wine bars lining the seafront and tucked into the Georgian streets behind. A stroll along the pier offers classic seaside views, while Deal Castle and Walmer Castle provide an engaging insight into the area’s rich naval and military heritage.
For those keen to explore further, scenic coastal routes head north towards Sandwich Bay and south to Kingsdown, perfect for walking or cycling with wide skies and sea views throughout. Deal railway station offers direct services to London in just over an hour, making Bay Reach a superb base for both short breaks and longer stays on the Kent coast.

Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!

A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
