The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors, and so this property is not suitable for those with mobility issues. The stairs are steep, as typical for a classic conservation area property.
Yes, there is a Nespresso coffee machine at the property. A small amount of pods will be provided on your arrival, as a starter pack, but you are welcome to bring more. The pods size for this machine are the smaller ones. If you would rather not bring your own pods, there are plenty of delicious coffee shops within a very short walk. We would recommend Hope & Lane, Climpsons & Sons, The Pop Up Cafe and Hut 55.
Yes, there is a very sweet courtyard garden at the property. The owner is a landscape designer and so it is full of plants and designed with you in mind. There is also a Kamado Joe BBQ for warmer days, and a white bench sofa which works as the ideal morning coffee spot.
Yes, you can easily walk to the beach from Cordyline Cottage within a matter of minutes. When you have left the property, take a left up towards the beach and carefully cross the road a little down or up from The Royal Hotel. It's as easy as that!
Cordyline is superbly located in the heart of Deal, set back almost directly opposite the town’s iconic pier and just moments from the seafront promenade. With the pebble beach and open views across the English Channel on your doorstep, this is a wonderful spot for soaking up Deal’s classic seaside atmosphere. Morning walks along the promenade and leisurely evenings watching the light change over the water are effortlessly part of daily life here.
Deal’s vibrant, award-winning high street is a short stroll away, offering an excellent mix of independent boutiques, antiques shops, artisan bakeries and well-stocked delis. Food lovers are particularly well catered for, with seafront pubs, seafood restaurants and cosy wine bars dotted along the promenade and nearby streets. Being so close to the pier means a visit to Deal Pier Kitchen is a must, whether for coffee, lunch or simply to enjoy the ever-changing sea views.
Beyond the town, scenic coastal walking and cycling routes lead north towards Sandwich Bay or south to Kingsdown, both offering wide skies and open sea views. Deal railway station provides direct services to London, making Cordyline an ideal base for short breaks and longer stays on the Kent coast.
