The bedrooms are on the first and second floors. Please note that the stairs are classic of the conservation area and so would not be suitable for those with limited mobility or very young children. The stairs down to the kitchen are particularly steep, so please take care when these are in use.
Like many of Deals Georgian townhouses, Noggin is set over four floors, with curved, narrow and steep stairs linking them. They are very much part of the homes character, but they do take a little care, so the house may not suit anyone with limited mobility or those who find stairs difficult. There are also a few steps up to the front door.
Yes, Noggin welcomes up to two dogs. With the beach a minute or two away and plenty of dog-friendly cafes and shops in town, it is a wonderful place for a seaside stay with four-legged friends.
The bunk room on the second floor is designed with children in mind, and the bunks are only suitable for younger guests. Noggin is perfect for four adults and two children, making it a lovely fit for families.
There's a Nescafé Dolce Gusto machine in the kitchen, but pods aren't provided, so it's worth picking some up on the way. Deal's independent cafés are also only a few minutes' walk away, and we'd highly recommend Climpson & Sons, Hope & Lane and The Pop-Up Cafe.
The lower ground floor kitchen has a lower ceiling than the rest of the house, and taller guests may need to mind their heads here and on the stairs. It's a cosy, characterful space for slow breakfasts, just one worth knowing about before you arrive.
Noggin sits on Silver Street, tucked away in Deal's conservation area, so there's no private parking at the house itself, but there are a few easy options nearby. The seafront is just 30 seconds from the front door, with pay and display parking along the promenade, which is ideal for unloading bags on arrival or for shorter stays. There's also free on-street parking on some of the neighbouring streets, though spaces can be in demand on summer weekends and bank holidays, so do check the signs for any restrictions. For longer stays, Sainsbury's on West Street is a relaxed 15 to 20 minute walk away and offers bookable parking through JustPark, with spaces that can be reserved in advance and are available day and night, all week, a short walk from Deal station, the pier and the town centre. Many guests like to drop their bags at the house first, then park up and wander back through town. Once you're settled, you'll find you barely need the car at all, with the beach, the pier and Deal's award-winning High Street all just a few minutes' walk away.
Noggin is set in the heart of Deal, a much-loved seaside town on Kent’s Heritage Coast, known for its relaxed pace, elegant Georgian streets and welcoming atmosphere. The seafront and pebble beach are close by, making it easy to enjoy morning walks along the promenade or quieter moments watching the light shift across the English Channel. Deal’s compact layout means everything is comfortably accessible on foot, from shoreline to cafés and shops.
The town’s award-winning high street is a real highlight, offering a lively mix of independent boutiques, antiques shops, artisan bakeries and well-stocked delis. Seafront pubs and seafood restaurants provide relaxed dining throughout the day, while cosy cafés and wine bars are tucked into the streets behind. Deal Pier remains a focal point for classic seaside views, and nearby Deal Castle and Walmer Castle offer fascinating insight into the town’s rich naval and maritime history.
For exploring further afield, scenic coastal walking and cycling routes lead north towards Sandwich Bay or south to Kingsdown, both offering wide skies and open sea views. Deal railway station provides direct services to London, making Noggin an excellent base for short breaks and longer stays on the Kent coast.
