The Drift
The Drift is an elegant holiday cottage that has everything you need for a wonderful coastal holiday or short break. The interior is tasteful and relaxing with a welcoming and cosy sitting room and a lovely open plan kitchen and dining area. Upstairs over two floors are two beautifully designed bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside is an enclosed courtyard garden with a raised deck with seating and sun shade, and the wonderful addition of a pizza oven, the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring Deal and further afield. An added bonus is secure off-street parking for one small to medium car. The Drift is a short walk to the beach and the lovely long promenade that takes you all the way into the centre of Deal, through Walmer to Kingsdown where you can enjoy a refreshing drink at The Zetland Arms, one of the few UK pubs situated on a beach. Deal's iconic Georgian High Street is also a short stroll from the cottage and offers a wealth of artisan, boutique and independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.

Deal
The Drift is set on Enfield Road in Deal, a well-placed residential spot within easy reach of both the seafront and the town centre. It is ideal for guests who want to enjoy Deal’s independent shops, cafés and restaurants, while staying in a quieter part of town with everything close at hand. From here, you can easily wander down to the beach for a morning walk, a sea swim or a relaxed afternoon by the shore. Deal’s charming High Street, pier and Saturday market are all nearby, giving you plenty to explore on foot, from antiques and boutiques to good coffee and local food. With the station also within convenient reach, The Drift is a great base for making the most of Deal and the surrounding Kent coast. Whether you are planning slow seaside days or trips to nearby Kingsdown, Walmer or Sandwich, this is a lovely spot to settle into.

A show at the Astor Theatre
An Edwardian arts centre on Stanhope Road with a varied programme of music, theatre and film. A good one for an evening in Deal, whatever the weather, and full of local spirit.
Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!
The Pelican Rooms
A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Kent boasts championship links golf at Royal St George’s, host of The Open, alongside Prince’s Golf Club, Walmer & Kingsdown and Royal Cinque Ports, offering world-class coastal courses and sweeping sea views.
Deal Castle
Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
