Reviews

Broadstairs

The Tide House is ideally located for exploring the very best of Broadstairs. Just a few seconds from the front door is the bustling High Street which is full of independent cafés, much-loved restaurants and boutique shops. Wander down a little further and find yourself on the popular Viking Bay, with its sandy beach and traditional beach huts. Broadstairs has quietly become a destination for food lovers, with everything from excellent seafood restaurants to relaxed, family friendly favourites all within easy reach. Visit Twenty Seven Harbour Street, known for its small plates, seasonal dishes and views across the bay, or enjoying a long, easy lunch at Posillipo, where the terrace looks out over the sea. Kebbells Seafood Bar & Restaurant is another local favourite, known for its fresh, simply prepared seafood. No visit would be complete without a stop at Morelli’s Gelato, a much loved ice cream parlour that has been serving traditional gelato since the 1930s, best enjoyed with a stroll along the promenade. Whether it’s coffee on the high street, seafood by the harbour, or an evening drink overlooking the water, everything is close by, making this one of the most sought-after spots to stay on the Kent coast. Just North is Ramsgate, where cafés, restaurants and bars line the harbour, a lovely spot for waterside dining. In the other direction is Margate, known for its creative feel and thriving food scene, along with the golden sands of Main Sands and the much-loved Turner Contemporary. Closer still, the village of Kingsgate is perfect for a quieter escape, with clifftop walks and hidden bays, while St Peter’s offers a more traditional feel just inland.
