Positioned on Deal High Street and just a few steps from the beach, The Watchmaker's House is a handsome Georgian town house with a rich history. Once home to Isaac Hayward, watchmaker and later keeper of Deal’s iconic Timeball Tower, this charming period property is full of character, thoughtful touches and modern comforts.Arranged over four floors, the house sleeps up to seven guests across three spacious kingsize bedrooms and one single, making it perfect for families or a group of friends. Upon entering, you'll find a cosy sitting room with two comfortable sofas and a Smart TV with Sky and Netflix, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the local area. Down a few steps takes you to a light-filled snug with doors that seamlessly connect the indoor space to the small, but secluded courtyard garden. This welcoming space is ideal for enjoying an evening drink with friends.The kitchen, located on the lower ground floor, is an inviting space with a gas effect cast iron stove and a sociable dining area for relaxed breakfasts. Upstairs guests can spread out between four comfortable bedrooms, tastefully decorated with soft muted tones. The bathroom is in the middle of the house, with a spacious walk-in shower and a large freestanding bath.Right on your doorstep, you’ll find Deal’s array of independent shops, cafés, bars and galleries. Every Saturday, there is a wonderful local market just across the street, which is a must visit! The beach with it's promenade and iconic pier is just a short walk from the house. The Watchmaker's House really is a home that guests will want to return to time and time again.

- There are three retractable stair gates at the property for infants or pets. Guests must use at their own risk.
- We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
- Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside or outside the property at any time. Please no charging of vapes or e-scooters.
- Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
- Parties and loud music are not permitted.

The Watchmaker's House is perfectly positioned on Deal High Street with its artisan food shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, and is also just minutes from the lovely long seafront promenade and pier. On a Saturday morning, there is a wonderful local market right on your doorstep. For guests who prefer country walks and historic sites, there’s plenty of choice nearby, including both Deal and Walmer castles, and a fabulous coastal walk to Kingsdown and St Margaret’s Bay. Golfers are spoilt for choice with the local clubs of Royal Cinque Ports and Walmer & Kingsdown golf clubs. Whilst the championship courses of Royal St George’s, and Princes are a short drive away.

A show at the Astor Theatre
An Edwardian arts centre on Stanhope Road with a varied programme of music, theatre and film. A good one for an evening in Deal, whatever the weather, and full of local spirit.
Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!
The Pelican Rooms
A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal Castle
Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
