Threshing Barn sits within the Frasers of Egerton estate in the heart of the Kentish Weald, some of the most beautiful countryside in the south of England. The estate itself covers 300 acres of rolling farmland, and the Greensand Way long distance footpath passes close by, offering walks that range from gentle strolls to longer routes across the North Downs with breathtaking views. The village of Egerton is a short drive, with a local pub, The George, and a village store for essentials. The pretty market town of Headcorn is five miles away and has a mainline station with a high speed connection to London St Pancras in just over an hour, making this an easy escape from the city. For days out exploring, the area is extraordinarily well placed. Leeds Castle - one of England's most beautiful and frequently visited historic castles is under twenty minutes away. Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Vita Sackville-West's extraordinary creation in the Weald, is a similar distance in the other direction. The Big Cat Sanctuary at Smarden is within easy reach for families, and Chart Hills Golf Course is just fifteen minutes away for those who want to get out on the fairways. Further afield, Folkestone has undergone a remarkable regeneration in recent years - the Harbour Arm alone is worth the trip, with its cluster of independent restaurants, bars and galleries. Canterbury, with its cathedral and medieval streets, is forty minutes. And for those who want the coast, the beaches of Camber Sands and the classic seaside towns of the Isle of Thanet are all within comfortable driving distance.
