Riley Cottage
Riley Cottage is a beautifully renovated two bedroom cottage, tucked away in the sought after conservation area, just a minute's walk to the beach and the independent High Street. Lovingly restored to a high standard and designed with holidays in mind, this cottage is perfect for couples, friends or a small family looking for a relaxing seaside getaway. The ground floor is open plan, creating a sociable space to relax after a day of exploring the local area. At one end is the cosy sitting room with a log burning stove, perfect for curling up with a book or watching a film. The light and spacious kitchen and dining area is well equipped for cooking and entertaining, and a stable door opens onto a delightful courtyard garden. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin, along with a bathroom featuring a beautiful roll top bath and overhead rainfall shower. Both bedrooms have high quality shutters and mattresses for a good night’s sleep, and there is plenty of built in storage throughout the house, including a useful utility cupboard in the bathroom. High speed WiFi is available if you need to stay connected during your stay, and the beach is seconds away for head clearing walks. For families travelling with little ones, the owners have provided a box of toys and books. Free on road parking is usually available on the surrounding roads and along the seafront.

You can pull up for a short time to unload. Free on street parking on neighbouring streets and on the seafront. Free parking is available from Alfred Square towards North end of Deal.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first and second floors. The stairs are not particularly steep and they also have a carpet runner and bannister.
- Check in is from 4pm and check out 10am.

Frequently Asked Questions
There is one travel cot, high chair and stair gate available. You can add these at the time of your booking or let Keepers Cottages team know. You will need to bring cot linen, as this isn't provided. As well as these practical amenities, there are also some books and games in the twin bedroom at the top of the cottage and plastic cutlery, plates and cups in the kitchen.
There is a Nespresso coffee machine in the kitchen as well as a french press. You will need to bring pods with you. The machine takes the small Nespresso pods, which can be purchased from most Supermarkets.
The cottage is perfect for working if you have a deadline to meet or just want a quiet space for creativity. The broadband is reliable and the beach is seconds away for regular walk breaks.

Riley Cottage is set in the heart of Deal, perfectly placed for enjoying this much loved seaside town. The seafront is within easy reach, ideal for morning walks along the promenade or quieter moments by the water as the light changes across the English Channel. Middle Street is the perfect location for a seaside holiday stay in Deal, Kent. Being just a few minutes away from Deal High street, where you are spoilt for choice with friendly restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and independent shops. The beautiful pebbled seafront of Deal is also minutes away, for you to be able to enjoy the fresh sea air for the whole of your holiday. Deal train station is just a short walk/drive away, where you can catch the fast train to London St Pancras in just over an hour. Food lovers are well catered for, with excellent seafood restaurants, cafés and welcoming pubs throughout the town. The Ship Inn on Middle Street is a firm favourite with both locals and visitors, known for its relaxed atmosphere. The Pop Up Café is great for a healthier brunch or lunch and The Rose Hotel or The Blue Pelican are two wonderful restaurants worth booking during your stay. For days further afield, coastal walking and cycling routes lead north towards Sandwich Bay or south to Kingsdown, offering wide skies and open sea views.

An Edwardian arts centre on Stanhope Road with a varied programme of music, theatre and film. A good one for an evening in Deal, whatever the weather, and full of local spirit.
Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!
The Pelican Rooms
A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal Castle
Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
