Reviews

Dover

Castle View is set in the historic coastal town of Dover, offering a distinctive setting where dramatic landscapes and centuries of history meet. Positioned beneath the famous White Cliffs, the town enjoys a striking coastal backdrop, with scenic walks leading directly from the centre towards open countryside and clifftop paths. Dover’s seafront and harbour area are close by, providing a mix of maritime activity, coastal walks and wide views across the English Channel.

The town is dominated by the iconic Dover Castle, one of England’s most important historic sites, with its medieval walls, secret wartime tunnels and panoramic views stretching as far as France on clear days. The town centre offers a selection of cafés, pubs and shops, while the nearby St Margaret’s Bay and Kingsdown provide quieter beaches and excellent coastal walking. The White Cliffs of Dover Visitor Centre is also within easy reach, offering well-marked trails and family-friendly routes.

Dover is well connected for exploring further afield, with easy road access via the A2 and fast rail services linking Dover Priory with London. Nearby Deal, Sandwich and Canterbury offer additional dining, shopping and cultural attractions, making Castle View an excellent base for short breaks or longer stays exploring Kent’s historic and coastal landscapes.
