A combination of factors makes Kent an exceptional region for winemaking. From the chalky-rich soil to the drier, warmer climate, it shares several things in common with the Champagne province of France, which is why many vineyards throughout the county have become known (and celebrated) for their English sparkling wine. To promote the area’s diverse and delicious vinification efforts, the Wine Garden of England is a ‘family’ of nine different vineyards that are partnering to promote world-class wine tourism and develop Kent’s very own ‘wine route’ not unlike those found in France’s Loire Valley and Germany’s Weinstraße.
Keepers Cottages are working closely with the Wine Garden of England, to ensure all our guests can enjoy the best that Kent has to offer! These top producers offer exceptional tours, tastings, and picturesque landscapes. Moving from West to East (because it’s impossible to pick favourites), we’re exploring the nine vineyards putting Kent on the global oenotourism – and viticulture – map.
