Prince’s Cottage
For the perfect friends or family holiday in Deal, Prince’s Cottage ticks all the boxes. A cosy traditional cottage with an inviting sitting room with a Smart TV for cosy evenings, a separate dining room and a well equipped kitchen with a a coffee machine overlooking the pretty sunny south facing courtyard garden. The house has been well stocked with holidays in mind, plenty of games, books and toys have been left for adults and children. The owners have also kindly left a record player and a wireless Bluetooth speaker for guests to enjoy. Upstairs are three comfortable and spacious bedrooms, each with blackout blinds for the best nights sleep and fans to keep you cool during the warmer months, and a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Full fibre broadband will help keep you connected during your stay. Located in the lovely Georgian town of Deal, Prince’s Cottage is a short minutes walk to the seafront with the long promenade and Pier, the 16th century Deal castle and iconic fishing boats on the shingle. The High Street, which is filled with boutique shops, restaurants, bars and the busy popular Saturday farmers market, is also a short stroll away and in the other direction is the lovely Victoria Park, the ideal spot for children and dogs, and Tides Leisure Centre with gym, pool and tennis courts. The cottage is also only five minutes from the train station, so why not leave the car behind and enjoy a relaxing break. Parking in and around Walmer offers plenty of free on road parking, and you can usually find a space easily within walking distance.

Prince’s Cottage is quietly set back in Deal, directly opposite the impressive Deal Castle, offering a wonderfully peaceful position with a strong sense of history all around. From here, the seafront is just moments away, making it easy to enjoy early morning walks along the beach or relaxed afternoons watching the world go by. Despite its calm setting, the cottage remains close to the heart of town, with the rhythm of seaside life never far away.
Hut 55 is around a five to ten minute walk along the promenade and is a popular spot for swimming, paddleboarding or simply enjoying time by the sea with a good coffee. Deal’s award-winning high street offers independent boutiques, artisan bakeries, delis and a fantastic choice of pubs and restaurants. With coastal paths leading towards Walmer, Kingsdown and Sandwich Bay, Prince’s Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Deal on foot while enjoying a tucked-away, tranquil setting.

A show at the Astor Theatre
An Edwardian arts centre on Stanhope Road with a varied programme of music, theatre and film. A good one for an evening in Deal, whatever the weather, and full of local spirit.
Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!
The Pelican Rooms
A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.
Bygga Bo
A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal Castle
Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
