Farrier Beach Cottage
Farrier Beach Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage dating from the mid 1600s, just 50 metres from the beach and 200 metres from the high street in the heart of the conservation area. The cottage has been sympathetically restored, freshly decorated and furnished with handsome Mid Century pieces and natural materials. This charming cottage has many of it's original features such as three beautiful fireplaces, one of which is a wood burner, exposed beams and wood panelling. The small, but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you might need for cooking up a feast with local treats. The kitchen and dining room have doors out to the sunny and sheltered garden. In the winter months, snuggle up on the sofa in front of the fire, or relax in the armchair with a good novel after a day of exploring the coastline. Upstairs you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two singles, and a bathroom. The house is also well set-up for home working for 2 people, with a small desk and ergonomic chair in the second bedroom plus a separate dining room. It really is the perfect base for couples or friends seeking a relaxing break by the sea.

- Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
- Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
- Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.

Deal is a beautiful seaside town and this property is located perfectly, just 50 metres from the beach and 200 metres from the high street. Once inside the high street you'll find independent cafes, locally run restaurants, wonderful shops and so much more. There's plenty to explore in and around the town and once you have made your booking with us, you'll have access to our guide which is made by locals for our guests to enjoy.
Yes, the property allows up to one dog and there is a small courtyard garden at the back of the property. The beach is also 50 meters from the property, which makes this house ideal for dogs. Deal is also really dog friendly, and there are plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants where you're dog is allowed, and warmly welcomed.
There are lots of local parking options. When you arrive, you can double park for a short time to unload. As the house is so central, you will be able to walk everywhere. If you prefer to find free parking, you can head to the seafront and turn left, head down towards the rowing club and it becomes free on road parking (about a 3-4 minute walk). From Alfred Square towards North end of Deal, this is also all free on road parking. Alternatively, you can pre book parking via Just Park at Sainsbury's (10 minute walk) - some people prefer this option as it guarantees them a space.

Situated in the heart of the conservation area, you will not need to use your car as there is so much on your doorstep to explore. Enjoy sunrise with an early morning coffee on the beach or a dip in the sea if you are feeling brave! You can walk along the lovely long promenade that takes you through Walmer and on to Kingsdown where you can enjoy a refreshing drink at The Zetland Arms, one of the few UK pubs situated on a beach. Deal’s iconic Georgian High Street is also a short stroll from the cottage and offers a wealth of artisan, boutique and independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

A show at the Astor Theatre
An Edwardian arts centre on Stanhope Road with a varied programme of music, theatre and film. A good one for an evening in Deal, whatever the weather, and full of local spirit.
Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.
The Pop Up Cafe
Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!

A hidden gem tucked above The Blue Pelican on Beach Street, The Pelican Rooms offers facials, massage treatments and so much more in the wellness space. A good one to know for a slower morning in Deal.

A little taste of Sweden at Deal’s Saturday market. Bygga Bo bakes cinnamon buns and Fika treats that draw a queue before the stalls have properly opened. A Keepers favourite!
Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
