Seaclusion
Seaclusion is a quaint and characterful cottage, with modern touches throughout, tucked away in the heart of Walmer just moments from the seafront and historic town of Deal. Once home to General Strouts Stores, this former shop has been transformed by its passionate owners into a stylish yet laid-back escape, offering a comfortable and convenient choice for families or friends looking to explore this corner of the Kent coast. Previous visitors have often referred to it as a 'Tardis', as the space continues to unfold as you move through the house. On the ground floor you will find a spacious twin bedroom, ideal for those preferring single level living, conveniently located opposite the bathroom with a walk-in shower. The compact yet well-equipped galley kitchen leads into a bright and sociable dining room. From the kitchen and dining room, there are doors out to the courtyard garden. Just beyond the dining area, the cosy sitting room invites you to unwind with a book, or enjoy a movie night in. Upstairs, three further bedrooms offer tranquil spaces to relax to after a day by the sea - two inviting doubles and a twin. Another modern bathroom mirrors the downstairs bathroom layout, with a large walk-in shower. Outside, a small south facing courtyard garden is a hidden suntrap which gets the late afternoon sunshine and is sheltered from the wind. You can start your mornings with fresh coffee whilst taking in the sea air or unwind in the evening under the heat lamp with alfresco drinks as the sun sets. In the winter, Seaclusion is incredibly well thermally insulated as it has only recently fully refurbished. The whole house has full Gas central heating. Both the dining room and lounge have log burners too for extra warmth.

Free on street parking directly outside the property on York Road and on neighbouring streets such as North Barrack Road, Campbell Road and along the Strand in places. Many streets in Walmer offer free on road parking, so it should never be an issue to find a space if you have a few cars.
You are able to park directly outside the cottage for convenient access. Seaclusion also benefits from a ground floor bedroom and a bathroom located directly opposite, featuring a walk in shower. While the house has not been specifically set up with accessibility in mind, Seaclusion may be an ideal choice, as there are no external or internal stairs to navigate. However, we recommend contacting the Keepers Cottages team prior to booking to confirm any specific wheelchair access or requirements.
- Bed linen and bath towels are provided.
- There is a walled garden to the rear with seating and a heat lamp, it is south facing and gets the afternoon sun and is sheltered from the wind.
- Wi-Fi access which is strong and suitable for home working.
- Central heating throughout, plus two log burners for extra warmth. The house is incredibly well insulated as it was only recently fully refurbished.
- Nespresso Ventura coffee machine (please provide own pods).
- Cot and high chair available, please let Keepers know if you would like these for your stay and note that cot linen is not provided.
- A dog basket is provided, but you will need to bring dog bowls and blankets.
- There is a washer/dryer in the kitchen, no laundry tablets provided,
- A starter pack of sundries such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid and hand soaps are provided to get you started, but you may wish to bring more for your self catering holiday - especially if staying for over a week.
- We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
- Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
- Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
- Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
- Parties and loud music are not permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, up to two dogs are very welcome to stay, for an additional charge of £25 per dog, per stay. There is also a dog basket for guests to use. The beach in Walmer is dog friendly all year round too, which is a real bonus.
Deal and Walmer train stations are very close by. Walmer is 8 minutes on foot, Deal train station is 10-15 minutes on foot. Taxis run from both stations, or you can pre-book with a local firm. Both stations have regular services to/from London St Pancras International.
Yes, the house is perfect for family holidays by the sea. The house has four bedrooms, two of which are twin rooms with single bed options, perfect for children or teens who may prefer not to share a bed. A high chair and travel cot are available (linen is not provided for the cot though). There are two bathrooms, one on each floor and a secure, private walled courtyard garden. The beach is only 2 minutes walk from the house.

Seaclusion is ideally positioned for a quintessential Kent coastal escape. Stroll along Walmer’s attractive seafront, where you can swim, cycle and even enjoy beach yoga. A scenic stroll along the promenade and you can discover the rich history of Walmer Castle, or wander into Deal’s award winning high street, where boutique shops, independent cafes, and restaurants await. For those craving adventure, the coastline offers fantastic walking trails, cycling routes, and watersports opportunities. There are a number of wold-glass golf courses nearby too (St George's, Cinque Ports and Princes Golf Club). Seaclusion really is your ideal base for a relaxing coastal getaway.
Walmer itself has a friendly village atmosphere, with traditional pubs, cafés and local shops nearby, and the beautiful Walmer Castle and Gardens just a short stroll away. Head a little further along the coast and you’ll find yourself in Deal, home to an award winning high street filled with independent boutiques, antiques shops, artisan bakeries and delis. On Saturday mornings, there is a wonderful market in the town centre too which is not to be missed. Seafront pubs, seafood restaurants and the iconic pier add to Deal’s enduring appeal. Coastal walking and cycling routes run in both directions, leading north towards Deal Pier and Sandwich Bay or south towards Kingsdown, offering wide skies and sea views. Walmer and Deal railway stations provide direct services to London St Pancras International, making Seaclusion an ideal base for short breaks or longer stays enjoying the very best of both Walmer and Deal.
