Reviews

"We had a fabulous stay at the extremely comfortable Oldestairs cottage. We were a family group ranging in age from 10 to 83 and the cottage suited us all. It is sympathetically and beautifully designed inside, full of nooks and crannies of interest and comfortable places to relax. There is really noticeable attention to detail. The house is much bigger than the photos on the website show. The kitchen is well equipped, the views of the sea calming and the large garden the perfect place to let off steam. The owner is attentive- even sourcing replacement balls for the football table when we could not find them.

The setting is great too. Literally a minute from the beach, we were straight in the water even in October and could then enjoy an excellent meal at the Zealand Arms. There is easy flat walking along the beach to Deal, or a cliff top walk to St Margaret’s the other way.

We will definitely be returning!"

"Great holiday cottage so close to the beach. Delightful location with fantastic local pub nearby also on the beach. Short drive or taxi into deal. Beautiful and spacious home with everything you could possibly need very comfortable and wonderful mini break."

"Absolute gem, you can see the sea from the bedrooms, the house is absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful time: managed to lock ourselves out and the hosts could not have been more responsive and helpful. Would absolutely stay again!"

"A group of 7 ladies stayed here for our 12th annual walking weekend. This was a really special house, full of character, out of an Agatha Christie story! We cooked in both nights in the well equipped kitchen, ate in the beautiful dining hall and played games in the lounge, with its fabulous wooden panelling. We did a lovely 12 mile walk on the Saturday and some of us swam in the sea a couple of times. The pebbly beach is 2 mins away. A really special place.
And the company Keepers Cottages were fantastic from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Brilliant customer service."

"It is in the most amazing position in a wooded valley and within 5 mins stroll of the beach.
We came as a family for my parents wedding anniversary and I have to say we were all so impressed with all the accommodation - the bedrooms were large and comfortable, the kitchen has a huge fridge and cooker with plenty of utensils and BBQ outside.

This place has it all -comfort, outstanding house, beautiful walks nearby, Pubs and a beach !"
