Tucked away in the quiet hamlet of Ripple near Deal, Raspberry Cottage is the sort of place you fall for before you have even stepped inside. With its picture-perfect pink façade and thatched roof, this delightful cottage offers a warm and welcoming escape for couples, friends, small families and golfers alike. Owned by the same family since the 1980s, Raspberry Cottage is a much loved family home, full of character and thoughtful touches. In recent years, the rear of the cottage has been carefully renovated, adding two modern shower rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are two comfortable and thoughtfully decorated bedrooms. One boasts a king size bed and the other a double with an optional single day bed, ideal for children or teens.Outside, a sunny large garden and big patio area is a quiet spot to unwind with your morning coffee or an evening drink while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. Your four legged friends will love it too, with plenty of footpaths from your door leading into miles of open farmland. Whether you are wandering to the local pub just down the road or exploring further afield, this is a truly peaceful corner of Kent.The location couldn’t be more perfectly placed for day trips. A short drive brings you to the charming seaside town of Deal, with its pebbled beach, pier, and abundance of independent shops and eateries. Dover Castle and the iconic White Cliffs are nearby for history lovers and walkers alike. Families will adore Betteshanger Park or White Mill Aqua Park for outdoor adventure, while just minutes from the cottage lies Solley’s Ice Cream Farm - complete with a bar, events and local produce shop. Raspberry Cottage is a place you will want to return to, time and time again. Perfectly positioned and full of character, it captures everything we love about the Kent countryside.

Entrance is via the back, through the kitchen door.

Kitchen

Well-equipped kitchen with double oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster. Underfloor heating.

Shower rooms

Off the kitchen are two shower rooms, next door to one another. Walk in showers, wc and hand basins in both.

Dining room

Dining room with table and 6 chairs. Chest with dog bowls, games and toys for children. WiFi router.

Sitting room

Cosy sitting room with a two sofas (one of which is a sofa bed), armchair, mirror, chest, Smart TV, coffee table. The fireplace is not in use.

Patio with outdoor table and benches and lawn area.

Bedroom One

Bedroom One - sleeps 2, with Kingsize bed, bedside tables and lamps, built in cupboard, separate wardrobe, chest of drawers and tall mirror.

Bedroom Two

Bedroom Two - sleeps 2, with Double bed, bedside tables and lamps, built in cupboard and single (3ft) day bed.

You can park at the cottage (space for 2 cars) in the private car parking space to the side of the cottage.

Towels and linen are provided.
Dogs are welcome. Please note additional pet charges are £25 each per stay. There are dog bowls, blankets and treats provided.
There is a garden to the rear with seating. Please note that this is not enclosed.

One travel cot and high chair available on request. Guests must bring linen for the cot.
There is a pull out single bed (3ft) in one of the double rooms, for a guest. The cottage can sleep up to 5 guests maximum.

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.

Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside or outside the property at any time. Please no charging of vapes or e-scooters.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.

Such a lovely cottage, beautifully curated. We were here for a christening in Walmer so this was a perfect base. Such a lovely feeling here - like home.

Great beautiful Tudor cottage which provided a lovely reading experience of the familys time living there. Very good location for the surrounding beaches and walks so many fields surrounding. So peaceful but the open garden was a bit difficult in a dog friendly cottage as not secure but our dog loved it like us & to be fair we knew it wasnt 100% enclosed. The light reflecting glass in rear & side windows was great but at night you were able to see directly into the shower..we overcame it by showering before dark but really there needs to be blinds. The bedding would have been nicer if crisp cotton sheets were provided or even newer ones. On arrival we had dog hairs on sofa and we had hoover that and carpets, the toaster was broken but we could still used half of it. Overall, we all had the most wonderful relaxing stay, please dont be put off by some of our remarks we, didnt want to leave and they were things just slightly disappointing not complaints.

This cottage is all you think of as tudor England. Raspberry Cottage is comfortable and cosy with great views. Lovely garden and we didn't want to go home!

This was a great stay in a charming unusual cottage. Everything was immaculate and check in and out couldn't have been easier. My one note was that there was barely anything in the cottage - just some salt and pepper. For short stays especially it would be helpful to have some basics: cooking oil, kitchen paper, shampoo and shower gel for example.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was absolutely charming, and the location was perfect for exploring so many places, including castles, museums, beaches, and picturesque villages. We cant wait to come back!

We had a lovely stay at Ripple Cottage. There was 4 adults and the cottage was plenty big enough. There could of been more cloth storage in the small bedroom as had to put some of my clothes in the other room which was ideal. Hooks to hold the doors back and comfortable garden furniture would just finish the cottage off.

Raspberry Cottage is a beautiful property located at the end of a row of houses with fields behind and to the right of it. The view sweeps across the fields and villages to the Isle of Thanet and the sea. Outside at the rear there is a huge patio and extensive gardens. The extension and the rear of the house contains the spacious modern kitchen and two 3-piece bathrooms. The main house has a gorgeous dining room which looks like Bilbos in Lord of the Rings! Then there is a cosy living room. Up the stairs (not for the mobility impaired) are the two spacious bedrooms complete with shutters and opening windows. The entire cottage is cosy and comfortable. We stayed for two weeks in the hottest part of July but the cottage remained comfortably cool (fans are located in each bedroom) One thing to note for long stayers, there are no laundry facilities at the property, so be sure to factor that in. The cottage is just five minutes drive from Deal where there are numerous grocery stores and other amenities. There is a pub located at the corner of the Church Lane with limited food options but the other end of the lane is Solleys which has a campground, family pub, food options, ice cream and an Airstrip! We spent many evenings there, meeting friends and family with room to spread out. We had a fantastic time at Raspberry Cottage and fully recommend it. The location is perfect. We will definitely be returning soon!

A very comfortable cottage with excellent facilities. Pity the local pub no longer serves food. Could have done with welcome details, took us a while to find the WiFi code! Only complaint, in the hot weather cotton bedding would have been much more preferable to the polyester.

Lovely quaint cottage with a nice garden and country views. Everything we needed for cooking etc. Only thing was (i know its an old cottage) but so many huge cobwebs that looked like they had been there a long time. These were easily accessible (shower rooms across mirrors up the stairs above beds)and should have been removed.

We chose Raspberry cottage based upon using the location as a base to visit the many areas of local interest we wanted to visit in this part of Kent. A place in the country that would be quiet with a space outside to relax in and far fetching views from the property (for a detox from London) we found it perfect for our needs.The dining area outside was great for early breakfasts and evening meals, there is a good well stocked Farm Shop nearby, plus a site down the lane that produced their own ice-cream - recommended. The kitchen facilities & utensils has everything needed to create a good meal (I do like cooking) far better than other accm we have stayed at. On site parking is a bonus, not having to carry the bags far, also the lane outside is quite narrow. The view over the fields was perfect for eating/relaxing outside, and the shaded garden provided the habitat for the constant birdsong.If I could make any recommendations to make the stay more complete for our particular needs, some useful additions would be a brief history of the cottage (I found online it was the oldest in Ripple) and architecturally I think possibly originally 2 x 1up/1downs and of the immediate area though I did discover more whilst chatting to some elderly gentleman at the nearby church (I am now at that age where I find local history interesting). A key for one of the shower room windows to air out, the wife mentioned a sun lounger as well.That said, thank you for offering this old/historic property on your site, it provided a most relaxing break for us, and would certainly recommend it.

We had a lovely time in this quaint thatched cottage, the weather was very warm. The large garden table was perfect for eating outside.
