The Granary at Newage Farm is a delightful barn conversion on the North Downs Way, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The barn encompassing the upper floor of the former granary building. It has been restored to a high specification and sits in the beautiful grounds of Newage Farmhouse. The lovely open plan living space creates a spacious sociable area for friends or family to gather, and it has French doors to a small balcony with far reaching views across the Kent countryside. One bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there is a bathroom near the second bedroom. There is a snug with TV, which has a sofa bed for a further guest on request. Outside, the barn has a private garden area with table and chairs and guests are free to wander into the adjoining orchard and catch the sunset whilst relaxing in the hammock and listening to the birdsong. In fact, nature is in abundance at The Granary which has resident partridges, pheasants, hares, buzzards, kestrels and owls so don’t forgot your binoculars. Nestled in the beautiful Kent countryside aptly named the Garden of England, the area offers charming villages to explore, by foot, cycle or car, and is close to the Pilgrim’s Way. The historic market towns of Lenham and Faversham are a short drive away, as is the impressive Leeds Castle. The medieval City of Canterbury is also a short drive with its iconic cathedral, and for those wanting to enjoy the coast, where better than a trip to the fishing harbour town of Whitstable famous for its oyster beds. There is an electric vehicle charging point for cars.

The Granary at Newage Farm is set in the gently rolling countryside just outside Maidstone, offering a peaceful rural escape surrounded by fields, farmland and wide Kentish skies. This is a setting that immediately feels restorative, with quiet lanes and footpaths inviting you out for slow walks and moments of stillness, while the sense of space makes it easy to truly switch off.

Despite its tranquil location, The Granary is well placed for exploring the heart of Kent. The surrounding area is rich with vineyards, historic houses and gardens, including Leeds Castle, often described as one of the most beautiful castles in England. Traditional village pubs and farm shops dot the nearby countryside, perfect for relaxed lunches and stocking up on local produce. The Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers excellent walking and cycling routes, while further afield the coast is within comfortable reach for day trips to Whitstable or the east Kent shoreline.
