Reviews

"We stayed here for four nights in July as a couple with a small dog. Excellent communication with Camilla at Keepers Cottages for all details with regards to the property. The accommodation was lovely, light, airy and everything needed in a home from home. This for us was perfectly placed easy walk into the centre of the town and seafront but we really loved the Tankerton slopes area, very chill and relaxing. Could not fault the quality of the apartment, all that you needed if you wanted to cook in but other than breakfast we ate out at the Royal and the East Kent as very dog friendly. Parking was easy just around the corner, no problem at all. I have no hesitation in recommending this property which also during the covid period has been kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and is a gem in Whitstable. Thank you for a really enjoyable stay :)"

"We loved our short stay at this flat. Everything was super clean and tidy. Camilla the host was super responsive when we had questions before and during our stay. The location is super central - the beach is just a short stroll away and the town centre is also very close."

"We had a lovely stay here and will be back! It's well located, 5 minutes walk to the dock and 5 minutes to the beach and promenade. It was lovely and cosy, with all creature comforts, a great shower AND a nespresso machine! Camilla was very helpful and accommodating with our last minute booking and we left re-charged and ready to go back to the Big Smoke!

Thank you for a lovely recuperative stay! We were very comfortable, thank you also for the chocolates and coffee capsules!"

Local Information

One of Kent’s most visited areas, famous for its annual Oyster Festival, the charming coastal town of Whitstable is located just five miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury. A working harbour with a plethora of restaurants, bohemian cafes and stalls, you will not be stuck for places to sample the locally caught fish and seafood, especially the renowned oysters. This delicacy has been collected in the area since Roman times and comes into its own during the annual Oyster Festival when thousands of visitors from all over the world descend. Whitstable Harbour is a great place to watch fishing boats returning with their catch, and you can sample some of the freshly caught shellfish from one of the little stalls dotted along the seafront.

The town’s vast stretch of shingle beach is lined with colourful beach huts and is perfect for long walks and sunset swims - an ideal destination for seaside holiday. For those who like a little bit of history and culture, the 18th century castle and gardens are well worth a visit and there is a strong shopping and arts culture in the town. Within driving distance of Canterbury, Dover and Margate, as well as the historic Cinque Ports towns with their spectacular monuments and castles, you will always find something interesting to do on a holiday to Whitstable!
