Reviews
"A special place to stay in a beautiful unspoilt seaside town. The space in the cottage is uplifting, airy and light. We enjoyed looking at the many books on art and design and being surrounded by the art work on the walls. The cottage had everything we needed and more! We had glorious weather and it was great to be so near the beach if we fancied a swim."
"This place is totally unique, could have easily spent a week here taking in all the artworks and books. Very Comfy bed, great open kitchen lounge area and so near to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants 👍
Thanks Camilla, we had a fabulous stay in the studio and would love to return as it was so comfortable and a visual feast on every wall. Nice to meet Steve the artist too. See you next time. Karen and Geoff"
"Hello
I wanted to leave a review but couldn't see how to on your website, so I thought that I'd write one below and then you can add it if you wish.
We had a lovely week in Deal staying at The Artists House. It's a quiet location but only a two minute walk to the sea and three to the shops.Plenty of free parking a five minute walk is a bonus. Steve the artist, who lives next door and owns the property is well worth a chat to.
I can't recommend the property too much and would love to return in the near future."
"My partner and I had a wonderful time and the artists house was perfect. We will return there again as Deal is a great resort and there is so much to see and do in this historical part of East Kent.
The cottage is about 60 yards from the beach and there are great walks west to Walmer Castle and east to Sandwich.
The holiday was made better by the hot weather that was modified by the gentle sea breeze
It is a venue of castles, Dover,Deal, Walmer and Richborough, each in it's own way contributing to the growth of England from Roman times forward/
The cottage was full of paintings and prints and next time I shall buy!
A great stop!"
"We were the first guests to stay at the Artist's Studio and what a fabulous place it is. It's perfectly kitted out, wonderfully located - just a short stroll to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops - and the bed is ridiculously comfy. But the best thing about this pad was being surrounded by beautiful, curious and inspiring art. Joyful! We'll definitely be back."
Location
Property Description
Enter through the stable door and into The Artist’s Studio.
Main reception room
A large reception room. At one end there is a seating area with a comfy sofa, cushions, chairs, TV, DVD player, Bose radio/CD player and WiFi.
Kitchen
Under the gallery, at the other end of the studio is a well equipped kitchen with an oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and a table and chairs to seat four people.
Upstairs
The gallery with armchairs and more extraordinary artwork. The furniture is designed by Hans Wegner, Charles Eames, Ron Arad and Thomas, with a veritable library of fascinating books, mostly on design, architecture and the arts.
Double bedroom
Large double bedroom with Biba prototype dressing table. There is also plenty of space for a blow up mattress which we can provide for children. This room has been lovingly designed with accent colours of mahogany, rust and black, with framed iconic black and white photography on the walls.
En-suite
All white. Shower and bath, WC and basin.
Outside
Whilst there is no garden, the house overlooks others, and you can always take a chair and sit out in the front of the Studio in the quiet pretty cul-de-sac, or of course wonder down Griffin Street to the three mile long beach!
